installation
Twig is available as a desktop application for macOS. Download it from GitHub and install like any other Mac app.
download
Get the latest release from GitHub:
You'll see two download options:
- DMG (recommended) - standard macOS installer
- ZIP - compressed application bundle
Both are approximately 123MB.

- Download the
.dmgfile - Open the downloaded file
- Drag twig to your Applications folder
- Eject the disk image
install from zip
- Download the
.zipfile - Extract the archive
- Move
twig.appto your Applications folder
first launch
When you first open twig, macOS may show a security warning because the app is not from the App Store.
To open twig:
- Right-click (or control-click) on twig in Applications
- Select "open" from the context menu
- Click "open" in the dialog that appears
This only needs to be done once. Subsequent launches will work normally.
signing in
Twig uses PostHog OAuth for authentication. On first launch:
- Click "sign in with PostHog"
- You'll be redirected to PostHog in your browser
- Authorize twig to access your account
- Return to twig - you're now signed in
updating
Twig checks for updates automatically. When a new version is available, you'll be prompted to download and install it.
You can also check for updates manually by visiting the releases page.
