installation

Twig is available as a desktop application for macOS. Download it from GitHub and install like any other Mac app.

download

Get the latest release from GitHub:

download twig

You'll see two download options:

  • DMG (recommended) - standard macOS installer
  • ZIP - compressed application bundle

Both are approximately 123MB.

install from dmg

  1. Download the .dmg file
  2. Open the downloaded file
  3. Drag twig to your Applications folder
  4. Eject the disk image

install from zip

  1. Download the .zip file
  2. Extract the archive
  3. Move twig.app to your Applications folder

first launch

When you first open twig, macOS may show a security warning because the app is not from the App Store.

To open twig:

  1. Right-click (or control-click) on twig in Applications
  2. Select "open" from the context menu
  3. Click "open" in the dialog that appears

This only needs to be done once. Subsequent launches will work normally.

signing in

Twig uses PostHog OAuth for authentication. On first launch:

  1. Click "sign in with PostHog"
  2. You'll be redirected to PostHog in your browser
  3. Authorize twig to access your account
  4. Return to twig - you're now signed in

updating

Twig checks for updates automatically. When a new version is available, you'll be prompted to download and install it.

You can also check for updates manually by visiting the releases page.
